Get Back Up!

When we typically think of a fall or falling, it is not a good feeling. Can you imagine walking in to work, headed towards the escalator, with coffee in your hand and all of a sudden…

BOP!

Coffee spills all over the place. There’s no doubt that something will be sore on your body- even if it’s just your brain being sore from embarrassment. Lol.

You are looking around to see who notices, you have to pickup your belongings (if you were carrying anything) gather yourself, your thoughts, and get to your destination.

Not a good feeling, right?

How can a fall be good? When you are in a position of imbalance, unable to stand, you need assistance. This is even true spiritually.

  • It’s unfortunate that your heart was broken. It’s unfortunate that you loss your job.
  • It’s unfortunate that your child strayed from the morals and values you instilled.
  • It’s unfortunate that your life was threatened – but your life was not taken.

A fallen posture means that you needed some assistance to get up. When you are in a low place, you recognize that you cannot make it on your own. Your ears are no longer dull of hearing the word of God. Your heart is open to receive correction. Your mind recalls that person who once invited you to attend a church service with them. The veil of sin can be removed and your spiritual eye is wide open to see the works of the flesh, the works of the Spirit, and just how much your Father loves you to keep you even when you ignored Him.

“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans‬ ‭5:8‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

The fall prepares you for victory.

“The righteous may fall seven times but still get up, but the wicked will stumble into trouble.” Proverbs‬ ‭24:16‬ ‭CEB‬‬

A just man can fall 7 Times, but please don’t count me out. That 8th time, when I get up, I’m getting up in victory. I’m getting up in power. I’m getting up in strength; because the number 8 signifies resurrection and regeneration.

After you have fallen, do not stay there. GET UP!

Believe

All it takes is one…

One word.

One text.

One call.

One hug.

One conversation.

One opportunity.

Someone believed in you; someone is awaiting your motivation, encouragement, words of affirmation.

Someone is seeking for you to sow into them, that same message of hope that someone poured into you.

I’m here to get the party started…

  • You are great!
  • Because you are great, there is nothing but greatness within you.
  • If the people you associate with discount your ability, your greatness is not meant for them- get to stepping.

You do not have time to prove your greatness to the wrong audience. It is time to act.

Now what are you going to do?

“What do you mean, ‘If I can’?” Jesus asked. “Anything is possible if a person believes.” Mark‬ ‭9:23‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Suddenly

Suddenly – that is the word I woke up with in my spirit today.

Suddenly can mean:

  • Quickly or unexpectedly
  • Happening without warning or delay
  • Instantly , all of a sudden

Things can change in a day, in an hour, in a moment.

The way can be made, the door can be opened, the healing can manifest, your child can surrender, strength can be renewed, forgiveness can be granted, wars can cease, fear can dissolve, the ruling can be overturned. God can do it SUDDENLY!

That is why we praise Him even while going through because instantly, things can change.

Are you ready for suddenly?

Thus Hezekiah rejoiced, and all the people, because of what God had prepared for the people, for it was done suddenly. (2 Chronicles 29:36)

I’ll Fight for You!

Sin deceives us. Our eyes decide for us, and not our hearts. What we see is what we believe we will always be in view.

You see what you hate in what you love. You hate lies, you hate cheating, you hate fighting, you hate anger. You now see these behaviors in your children or your spouse, a family member or close acquaintance and so… you stop fighting for what you love!

  • Don’t stop fighting!
  • Fight for your children
  • Fight for your marriage
  • Fight for your life

Don’t give up! The relationship is worth fighting for. Your family is worth fighting for. Your dream is worth fighting for.

Jesus put up the ultimate fight for your life. God refused to lose you.

Fight because you refuse to lose.

Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others.” Colossians 3:13NLT

Box Out!

We have reduced God to the imagery in our minds based on what we can physically see. We have reduced God, to being a resource and not THE source in our lives. We have reduced God, to behavioral patters that impersonate humans, when in fact it is the reverse. Our actions. Our behaviors. Our character- should mimic…Him!

He is the Creator; we are the results of His creativity.

The Master designer.

He. Is. Our. Father.

Our finite human mind places limitation on an unlimited God. It is His desire to provide protection, fullness of joy, and a fulfilled life for His children.

My earthly dad never displayed – at least not in my life, what it is to have a dad who nurtures, cares, and demonstrates unconditional love. He lives right here in the city with me. Didn’t even come to my mom’s funeral service this past June, and I am the only child of their union. I heard from his brothers and sisters, who live in other parts of the world- and nothing from him. That has been the example of a father that I have known up until I was introduced to my real Father, through Jesus Christ.

As a result, I am not bitter because of it. I am better.

Remove God from your box; don’t tie Him down. You run the risk of exalting yourself.

He is sovereign!

First I predicted your rescue, then I saved you and proclaimed it to the world. No foreign god has ever done this. You are witnesses that I am the only God,” says the Lord. “From eternity to eternity I am God. No one can snatch anyone out of my hand. No one can undo what I have done.” Isaiah 43:12-13 NLT

I Am Free

Our finite human mind places limitations on an unlimited God. He does not need to preserve His strength because His power is limitless.

  • His attention is never divided.
  • His memory is not short; therefore He never forgets His promises.
  • His love is not contingent upon what we do for Him.
  • His grace and mercy is not extended to only those He prefers or takes a liking to.
  • His gifts and callings were given before you ever repented and therefore cannot be taken back.
  • You can give them back or they be of no value to you by how you dishonor and show lack of appreciation.
  • He has not changed His mind about you.
  • Who you were created to be was determined long before your inward battles began.
  • God’s gifts and calling can’t be taken back.”‭‭ Romans‬ ‭11:29‬ ‭CEB‬‬

There are, however, stipulations and restrictions to see His power personally demonstrated in our lives: our choice. It is also known as freewill.

The choice to live or the choice to die.

“I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live;” ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭30:19‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

God has all power. He could control our every move. Instead He offered us freewill and the ability to choose Him or the world. Since we are made in His image, this concept should not be a hard to grasp. I would not want someone to converse with me or spend time with me forcibly. Wouldn’t you want people to like and love you for you, and not what you can offer?

So since we have these feelings, this implies to me that we give people freewill in our lives as well. We allow people the opportunity to know who we are. We give people a chance to call us friend, family, wife, or husband. When they trample and walk on our emotions and our heart, we disconnect ourselves. Why? Because their actions our toxic to our lives. Mmmm Jesus! I see.

We have so much freewill that we really do not understand what it means to be free- the will to be free! The desire to be free. Our tainted and distorted view of freedom has nothing to do with spirituality and everything to do with the world views.

Our Father has standards that He will not lower for our fleshly desires.

Jesus replied, “You must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind. A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭22:37, 39-40‬ ‭NLT‬‬

His standards are attainable, but only through freewill submission.

Freewill. It means the desire to be free. In our effort to prove we do not need anyone, we demonstrate that same self-sufficient attitude towards our Father. It’s no longer freewill- the desire to be free but rather defiant- a refusal to obey or listen.

Freewill is the will (desire) to be free from sin. Are you free?

    Sink or Swim

Your thoughts can poison your mind and create a chemical imbalance, but you have the power to control that.

    • Find the good in everything.
    • Change your acquaintances.
    • Speak positive affirmations over your life.
    • Love unconditionally without expecting it in return (that’s when the hurt comes in).

There is no reason to drown from within when you have the natural capacity to swim above any issue.

    It’s in our DNA.

There is nothing that enters a man from outside which can defile him; but the things which come out of him, those are the things that defile a man. For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lewdness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness. All these evil things come from within and defile a man.” Mark 7:15, 21-23 NKJV
