It’s the NBA playoffs and what an amazing time to watch the talent and abilities these men have. Avid fans plan their personal schedules around the televised schedule to see their favorite player perform in front of thousands. Why? Because this is the playoffs. Spectacular things happen; the unexpected is expected. These men display, power, agility, passion and commitment to a child-like activity that has opened doors for them and their loved ones.
Although we stand in awe of their gift, their power is limited. Their ability diminishes with age and time and more importantly, it is given by God. Hmmm! Wait a minute…this ability was given by God? Oh – so that means if these men have a smidgen of ability, I can only imagine the authority and power of their source. But wait! God is the source; the Bible says He…IS…SOVEREIGN!
2 Samuel 7:22 (NLT)
“How great you are, O Sovereign Lord! There is no one like you. We have never even heard of another God like you!
Sovereign means: Bigger than all; having unlimited power or authority;
Let’s Pray: Father I thank you. We thank you for allowing us to present our petitions to you, through your precious son, Jesus. We are in awe of your power and we recognize that if we have your sweet Spirit dwelling within us, we become unlimited – as you are. We ask for your guidance on how to exercise this power so that you are glorified through all that we do. I humbly ask that you accept this prayer. In Jesus name, amen.
