Remember

I must confess this election stuff gave me some anxiety. Do I feel on edge and uneasy? Absolutely! For someone to openly express negativity  on so many issues, that causes division, makes me feel that those were inward opinions of many and someone was able to be a voice of expression. To plant a seed in the heads of my children that we will be deported to an unfamiliar country and for me to have to assure my children that this will not occur is emotionally damaging. Do I feel like crying? Absolutely. My baby cried. The first thing she says to me this morning as she wakes up and storms into my room, way before time to get up is: “Who won?” I pause because I know how sensitive Sydney is and the conversations we had just the evening before. I tell her and she breaks down as if to believe…we have to leave the United States. img_6082

I’m human shoot. I’m in the world, but not of it.

And…after all of the emotion, I come back down to reality. The Lord has kept us through more horrific circumstances. Let’s be clear: there were some decisions made that came from the White House during every administration, even during Obama’s, administration that blatantly went against the word of God. So where does your hope reside?

Somehow, the Lord always send consolation through and by His word.

Remember. Always remember the word of God and DO it. If you can read it, you should be able to do it. Just think about this for one minute. If by chance the enemy of Christ has been revealed as some believed, what did our Father tell us?

Psalms 23:5
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil;

God is in control. I said this in Monday’s devotion. My Father is bigger than the Presidential Election.

You, as a believer, have a weapon that is greater than any political party. It is not prefaced on finding dirt or uncovering the most heinous or abominable accusation against another. The weapon we have is prayer! We are able to petition God, in the name of Jesus and by way of the Holy Spirit…who…by the way, happens to be our Father, and who made Heaven and Earth.

2 Corinthians 10:4 (NKJV)
For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds.

Set your hope on things above and not things on the Earth. Remember who is in control. Remember.

If not anything else, this process has gotten our attention. Remember where  you stand. Remember who you’re standing for. Remember who is in control. One thing that President Elect Donald Trump did that most confessing Christians don’t do is…he believed. So I ask you:

  • What and who do you believe in?
  • Will you stand firm on the principles of God, regardless of what anyone says or thinks?
  • Will you run for Jesus by any means necessary?

Remember who and whose you say that you are.

What will be stronger in your life? Your conviction for Jesus or your emotion?

Remember!

Psalms 27:1-3 (NKJV)
The Lord is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid? When the wicked came against me
To eat up my flesh, My enemies and foes, they stumbled and fell. Though an army may encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; though war may rise against me, in this I will be confident.
