This Little Light of Mine

Step into a dark room and find a small beam of light…

  • The digital clock on the cable box.
  • The small blue light wrapped around the charging cord from your Dell laptop.
  • The display screen from your house alarm system. No matter where you are in that dark room you can see that light and navigate to find it.

These lights described above are “little” lights.

The Bible says we are a city set on a hill that cannot be hidden. I would not consider city lights on a hill, little lights. Think about the view of a city in the evening, when flying on an airplane. The view of a city from this pint gives a different perspective of the city.

Does your light provide a different perspective on life? What are we doing with our light? Are people drawn to it? Can they see it in the midst of darkness? Or do we blend right in?

If we are the light of Christ, why are we so overtaken with darkness?

Reset, change the battery, whatever you need to do. It’s time to get serious and intentional.

The presence of light in darkness is something that is unmistakable.

You are the light of the world. A city on top of a hill can’t be hidden. In the same way, let your light shine before people, so they can see the good things you do and praise your Father who is in heaven.” Matthew‬ ‭5:14, 16‬ ‭CEB‬‬
